I have always been interested in learning how the body works and ways to improve my health and wellbeing. Primarily trained as a Dispensing Optician, I have spent the past 14 years working in the healthcare industry; a job that I love and one that has allowed me to make a difference in people’s lives. However, a few years into this career, I began to suffer from muscular discomfort and pain in my neck and shoulders. The physical demands of providing patient care were affecting my posture and ultimately my mental health.
I found that I wasn’t the only one; many of my colleagues were also suffering from the physical and mental challenges that come from working long and demanding hours. Fortunately, my employers hired a yoga teacher to help relieve these complaints and that is where my yoga journey began. This one decision has led me to follow the path of yoga practice and teacher training.
Wanting to expand and share my experience with others, I started teacher training with Heidi Pascual at LotusLoveYoga, completing 200 hours in Vinyasa Flow Yoga. My passion lies with this form of yoga; sequences of poses that become fluid movements connected on the rhythm of your breath. My classes focus on aligning the body in each pose in the most beneficial way (while appreciating the differences all of us have) teaching breathing techniques, physical flow, and ending in relaxation and meditation.
Creating harmony with our body and mind.
